Digital Photography - The Essential Guide
Get to know the basic features of a digital camera, how to take pictures and download them into your computer. Basic editing, such as correcting contrast, brightness, color correction and resizing images for printing and e-mailing covered. Basic com-puter knowledge is essential. Adobe Photoshop
Ready to take your pictures to the next level? Begin with Photoshop tools, interface, formats and basic operation; then progress to rotating, adding text, cropping, correction tools, changing color and format, applying special effects and using layers. Techniques are applicable to Photoshop Elements, Adobe’s home version of the software. Basic computer knowledge is essential.

Making Graphics Fun
Do you look at professionally done flyers and wonder how they create such a great product? Well, you can do all of those things at your own computer. Students will make a flyer learning to insert, resize and layer graphics, create text boxes, shadow boxes and water mark graphics. You will also fill boxes with color and make different types of borders, make bullets and much more.

Excel Projects
The four projects we present help introduce a range of Excel uses and capabilities. By selecting common household tasks, the student is able to see direct application. Each project will start out simple and add features to make data entry and manipu-lation easier. These techniques can then be applied to more complex situations. Projects include: creating a checkbook, a basic workbook, using a down-loaded credit card statement—getting data from another source, inventory of household items—using lists and validation, building a recipe book and designing your own set of lists.
